Dear Neil, thank you for your message. You can refer to the list on this article for low-density areas: /portugal-low-density-areas
I’ve also asked our team members to contact you for further assistance. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Hello Kate, as of December 31st, 2021, the Portugal Golden Visa program will no longer allow for properties in Lisbon, Porto, or any of the coastal towns to qualify for the program.
The rule will not be retroactive. So, if you purchase a property before the changes come into effect, you may apply for the program.
Please get in touch with us through a form or email (info@getgoldenvisa.com) and we would be happy to assist you with the specifics of the program and of your search.
Sure Amanda, you may find them here: /portugal-golden-visa-and-its-280000-euro-option
]]>Hello Steve, regarding your questions:
1. You can stay in Portugal as long as you want, as long as you have a valid Portuguese Golden Visa, there are no time restrictions. As for the rest of the Schengen countries, the 90/180 days rule goes.
2. Your Golden Visa card is renewed at two-year periods at a time, as long as you maintain your investment and spend a minimum of 14 days in Portugal within the two years. You can renew this as many times as you want, you do not need to apply for citizenship at the end of five years.
Please feel free to email us info@getgoldenvisa.com and our team would be happy to help you explore your options.
]]>Hello Colin, the acquisition costs or the refurb costs do not count towards the minimum investment of 鈧400,000. The property or properties you purchase must total a minimum of 鈧400,000. So, perhaps you may purchase a minimum of 鈧30,000 worth of property more in a low-density area and apply, depending on your case. Hope this is helpful.
]]>Dear June, a property you purchased in the Algarve in 2007 would unfortunately not qualify you for a Golden Visa. Any property purchased before the program launched (in Q4 2012) does not qualify. It\’s also quite tough to retroactively qualify properties, even if they were acquired after 2012.
]]>Hello Ben, unless the land alone was acquired for a minimum of 400K鈧 and was in a low-density area, the answer is unfortunately no. Best of luck with the construction.
]]>Hello Michael, in order to qualify for a Golden Visa, the invested amount needs to come from your sources outside of Portugal. If you sell your property, take your funds outside of Portugal, and then bring in the funds back to Portugal and purchase a qualifying real estate, you may be able to apply. However, the specifics should be confirmed by a legal representative. Please feel free to email us at info@getgoldenvisa.com to discuss further. All the best.
]]>Yes, you can stay in Portugal for as long as you want with a valid GV.
A property purchased in 2015 will most likely not qualify, but feel free to email us at info@getgoldenvisa with the details, so that our team can check that for you, Andy.
But you can stay in Portugal for more than 90/180 with a GV?
Does a property bought in 2015 qualify?
Dear Darren,
It is not possible to get a mortgage for the min. investment amount, you must pay the minimum investment amount in cash.
]]>Dear Robert,
You can travel visa-free in the Schengen zone with the Golden Visa, but it is still going to be 90 days in 180 days. You may have unlimited access to the Schengen zone when/if you obtain Portuguese citizenship.
]]>Does the Gold Visa give unrestricted travel in Schengen countries for a UK citizen or does the 90 days in any 180 days still apply outside Portugal?
Thanks
]]>Hello Joan, unfortunately, a property purchased 10 years ago will not count towards a Golden Visa in Portugal.
